Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you might want to know before your treatment.
Wear something comfortable and easy to take off. You’ll undress to your comfort level (most clients go down to their underwear) and you’ll be covered with towels throughout, with only the area being worked on uncovered at any time.
No, everything you need is provided. Just bring yourself. If you have long hair, a hair tie can be helpful.
Treatments range from 30 to 90 minutes depending on which option you book. You’ll fill in a short consultation form online before your appointment, and we’ll briefly chat through anything you’ve mentioned (like sore shoulders or recent injuries) before the treatment begins.
I’m based at Jasmines on Stubbington Green in Stubbington, Fareham (PO14 2LE). There’s free parking available nearby.
Please let me know as soon as you can. I’ll do my best to give you the full treatment, but if it would push into another client’s slot, I may need to shorten your session to keep on time. The full price still applies.
To cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours’ notice. Your 50% deposit is non-refundable for cancellations within 48 hours. Get in touch as soon as you can if your plans change. I’ll always try to be flexible where I’m able.
When you book, you’ll pay a 50% deposit. The remaining balance is paid at your appointment by card or bank transfer.
Massage is generally safe, but certain health conditions mean I may not be able to provide treatment. If you’re unsure or have any health concerns, please contact me before booking and we can discuss whether massage is suitable and whether I’m able to treat you.
Swedish massage is gentle to firm. I’ll check in on pressure throughout and adjust to what your body wants. MLD is much lighter, almost feather-light. If anything is uncomfortable at any point, just say so.
Swedish is a traditional, full-body massage using long, flowing strokes and adjustable pressure to ease muscular tension. It’s what most people picture when they think of massage. Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is much lighter and more rhythmic. It works with your body’s drainage pathways to help reduce puffiness, bloating, and fluid retention. People come for Swedish to switch off. They come for MLD to see and feel a specific result.
I’m trained in MLD techniques through the Cottage Training Centre, and ABT-accredited and insured to offer them. To be clear, I’m not a fully certified MLD specialist (that’s a longer training pathway I plan to pursue in time). What I offer is a careful, attentive MLD treatment for wellness purposes: puffiness, bloating, pregnancy, general fluid balance, and post-procedure recovery beyond the initial healing window. If you’ve had recent surgery or have a complex medical condition involving the lymphatic system, please ask your surgeon or GP for a referral to a clinically trained or healthcare-registered MLD therapist.
For cosmetic procedures like liposuction or a tummy tuck, I usually start working with clients from around two to three weeks post-op once wounds have healed. The first couple of weeks should be handled by a fully certified post-surgical MLD therapist working closely with your surgeon. If you’re unsure about timing, please get in touch before booking and we can talk it through.
Most clients notice a difference after one session. For visible, sustained results, particularly with bloating, puffiness, or recovery work, a course of three to six sessions over four to eight weeks tends to give the best outcome. After that, many clients book in monthly to maintain the effect. I’ll suggest a sensible rhythm at the end of your first appointment, with no pressure to commit upfront.
Yes. MLD can be a real comfort during pregnancy, particularly for swollen ankles, tired legs, and the heaviness that builds up in the second and third trimesters. I offer a Pregnancy MLD treatment specifically adapted for this. Please mention how far along you are when you book, and let me know if your pregnancy has any complications so we can talk through whether the treatment is right for you.
Yes, absolutely. Massage can actually help with cramps and the general heaviness that comes with your period. There’s no need to mention it unless you want to, and you can dress however feels most comfortable. One thing worth knowing if you’ve booked MLD: some clients find that having a treatment on the first day of their period can make the flow heavier. It’s completely your call whether to go ahead or reschedule, just something to be aware of.
I treat women only. It’s a deliberate choice that lets me create a calm, comfortable space focused on women’s wellness. As a sole practitioner working in a private treatment room, it’s also what feels right for the kind of practice I want to run.
